Working in Banking for more than 25 years I have held a range of national and international positions as COO/ CIOO/ CEO at Rabobank. Starting as a programmer in IT, over the years I have worked with all banking products, from investment banking to retail payments on both sides of the balance sheet. I have run both small and large departments and have gained extensive experience in managing large scale change projects, often using IT in it’s various stages of maturity in the past decades. Being at the basis of everything, I firmly believe people are the key to success. Being a LEAN fan of the first hour, our LEAN methodology enables us to continuously improve our people, teams and therefore customer experience and results. The past few years we have successfully invested in setting up our Robotics team and we are currently gaining experience with Artificial Intelligence applied to Operations and customer facing processes. My wife and 1 (54) live in The Hague, The Netherlands and we have four daughters. Next to being a banker I am chairman of the supervisory board of a group of several secondary schools in my city.
